Vancouver City Planning Commission: Alternative Futures Housing   Housing issues are a pre-eminent concern of civic politics. The Vancouver City Planning Commission wants to widen and democratize the debate about housing by making information and analysis available to citizens. The Alternative Futures website is one way to engage concerns about housing in the city. The commission believes that citizens want to put their hand in, be heard, and challenge the status quo. BC Assessment   BC Assessment is an independent Crown agency established to classify and assess the market value of all property in British Columbia. 

BC Government   The official BC government home page to contact provincial ministries and government organizations.

BC Treaty Commission  Includes annual reports of the Commission, and other useful information.

Environmental Assessment Office View a list of projects currently under environmental assessment review as well as projects that have already been certified. 

Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) The Real Estate and Mortgage Brokers Branch of FICOM is responsible for the day-to-day regulatory decisions that fall under the Real Estate Act and the Mortgage Brokers Act. 

Homeowners Protection Office of BC. A provincial Crown corporation formed in response to many of the recommendations in the original BarrettCommission  report on the quality of condominium construction in British Columbia.

LandData BC    LandData BC is a clearinghouse for land-related information about the province of British Columbia. 

Land Use Coordination Office (LUCO)  LUCO's mandate is to improve the corporate direction and coordination of all inter-ministry strategic land-use planning initiatives. Includes strategic land use plans, land and resource management plans as well as protected area strategies. 

Ministry of Finance and Corporate Relations  Income Taxation Branch.  Contains all Property Transfer Tax Information Bulletins.

Property Assessment Appeal Board The Board is established under Part 5 of the Assessment Act, RSBC, 1996, c. 20, to resolve appeals filed from the decisions of the Property Assessment Review Panels and appeals filed under the Forest Land Reserve Act, RSBC 1996, c. 158.

Real Estate Council of British Columbia  The Real Estate Council is the licencing body for realtors.  The site includes consumer and licensee information. 

Residential Tenancy Office   Administers the Residential Tenancy Act.  An information resource for tenants and landlords.  Links to Acts and documents, and contact info.

Union of British Columbia Municipalities The UBCM was formed to provide a common voice for local government and this role is as important today as it was 86 years ago.
