Meet Robert Greene, RI

Rob_Greene.jpgI have a deep curiosity and desire to learn, and I find that the more I get involved with various groups, the more I learn and develop as a person and a professional.  In my current role at Landquest I oversee 20 Realtors who are selling properties around the province.  I work with property and business owners to sell trophy and alpine properties, ski resorts and development properties.

I’ve worked in the specialized area of rights-of-way with telecommunications companies acquiring and managing wireless tower sites throughout the province.  This field also exposed me to pipelines (wastewater, water and oil and gas), rapid transit projects like the Canada Line to Vancouver International Airport, and overhead power and telecommunications infrastructure.

My family consists of my partner Lara and two teenage boys who are active in sports, so I have been coaching soccer for 10+ years. I have volunteered on the board of our ski club, have been involved with advisory committees with the District of North Vancouver where I live, as well as serving on the board and committees with some professional associations that I have been involved with throughout my career.

My perfect day off work would consist of getting up early to hit the powdered covered slopes with my family, friends or clients.  Having a few cold ones in the hot tub après, and then a nice meal followed by a good board game!

Meet Fred Kozier, RI

Fred_Kozier.JPGI’ve been a member of the REIBC since 1990. I started doing office leasing with a small company named Bruneau and Associates and later shopping center property management and leasing with PCI. Looking to further my career within land management I became a Property Agent with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and BC Housing Management Commission where I acquired, disposed, expropriated and exchanged land for highway and housing projects from Vancouver Island all the way up to Powell River.  I did that for over 15 years.

Currently, I am looking for my next assignment either on full time or on contract basis.I just completed a 1 Year contract at BC Hydro in Property Right Services, handling requests and proposals from the public regarding existing and new BC Hydro property interests. Prior to that, I worked at Rogers Communications for 8 years where I negotiated statutory right of way agreements covering roof-top sites in urban locations and land sites for telecommunications towers in rural locations.

I love working on a variety of projects, in different locations and negotiating a variety of agreements with property owners, legal counsel, corporate vice-presidents, other government agencies and municipalities.  My work has taken me all over the province from Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and throughout the interior and northern BC as well as Alberta and Saskatchewan.

This past August I traveled to Florence, Italy with my wife Marifi and son Micah (pictured).

REIBC News

Webinar Series

Late last year the REIBC surveyed members requesting help in finding topics of interest to them that they would like to learn more about. We received many great ideas and as a result have begun a webinar series that will bring you an informative webinar in 10 months this year.

In late November we hosted a webinar about the Land Title and Survey Authority tools that are available to search and access land records and last week we hosted a webinar on How Workforce Housing can help the Homeless. If you missed them, both webinars are available on our website for purchase.

Our next webinar is taking place on February 22nd with guest presenter Brad Currie, RI who will be speaking about the effects of the new mortgage rules on the real estate market and what you need to know. Click here to register.

Upcoming webinars will touch on topics such as multi-use properties, rental information, sea-level rise, mobile home parks and many more! More information will be made available as speakers are confirmed.

Charity Golf Tournament

Our 25th Anniversary Charity Golf Tournament is taking place on June 18th, 2018 at the Richmond Country Club.  Over the past 25 years, the REIBC has donated more than a half a million dollars to charity thanks to the generous support of many sponsors, some of whom have participated in the tournament from the very beginning.  We get updates from Make-A-Wish on how our recent donations are granting wishes for kids who are living with life-threatening illnesses and we often share them in our newsletters!

Recently, the Make-A-Wish Foundation shared a heart-warming video with us, shedding light on the difference that the dollars raised at our golf tournament is making for kids and their families. Check out the video here.

Registration for the 25th Anniversary of the REIBC Charity Golf Tournament will open soon!
