Jesse Richardson, RI
Jesse began his career in real estate in 2018, working for Telus Communications as a Real Estate Specialist. He currently works as an Assistant Property Coordinator for the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure and has worked for the Ministry since 2019. In his spare time, Jesse likes to stay active by playing soccer and golf.
Welcome Jesse.
Laila McMillan, RI
Laila began her career in real estate in 2016 as a fee appraiser. Before that, she worked as a residential building designer and general contractor. Growing up, she was always comfortable on construction sites, as her father was a building contractor. Now, she works as a commercial appraiser with BC Assessment Authority. She loves the challenge and the continual education opportunities that her position affords her, as it allows her to keep a finger on the pulse of the industry and the opportunity to utilize her background and education to the best advantage. Laila’s hobbies include sculpture, architecture, history and travel. Her most recent trips to Paris and Italy allowed her to totally immerse herself in the local cultures and she even had the opportunity to sculpt alongside master sculptors. She hopes to travel again as soon as the pandemic allows.
Welcome Laila.

Webinars
Housing Outlook 2022 (January 20, 2022) and Economic Forecast 2022 (January 27, 2022)
On January 20, 2022 REIBC hosted Brendon Ogmundson, Chief Economist of BCREA to discuss what he sees moving forward in 2022. Brendon noted that the low inventory is a record levels although he does see sales being in strong in 2022. As always, the presentation was very good and full of great information. We thank Brendon for his time and have made a donation on his behalf to the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation.
Then on January 27, 2022 REIBC hosted Bryan Yu, Chief Economist with Central 1 Credit Union. Bryan gave us a detailed overview on the full economy and noted that the economy is doing quite well and there is good momentum moving into 2022. BC is outperforming other provinces as this time as we had a good economy going into the pandemic. So much information shared and the insights were very interesting. We thank Bryan for his time and his insights and REIBC has made a donation on his behalf to the BC Paraplegic Foundation.
Both speakers spoke of interest rates rising and that it is done to slow inflation. As the interest rate held in January, look for an increase as early as March 2022.
Thanks again to both and watch your inbox for the next topic and speakers in our webinar series.
