REIBC Vancouver Chapter and Wesgroup - River District Tour
On Thursday, May 7, 2015 the Vancouver Chapter went to the River District and had a site tour.
River District is Southeast Vancouver’s newest and largest waterfront community. River District, an award-winning project being developed by Wesgroup Properties, will be a complete community with unique sustainability features which covers 130 acres and will include 7,000 homes.
The tour led by representatives from Wesgroup started off with a project orientation and continued through the various sales centres and display suites.
The tour ended with a networking opportunity at Romers. Below are photos taken from the event. Thank you to everyone who participated.
3rd Annual North Fraser VIP Movie Night Social
The North Fraser Chapter held their 3rd Annual VIP Movie Night Social on Thursday, May 28, 2015. There were 15 people gathered to watch movies at the Silver City, Coquitlam; ¾ of the group watched Mad Max and the rest watched Tomorrowland. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the appetizers while conversing amicably. See photos below.

Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) Update: The first members of the CRT appointed
The Minister of Justice announced the appointment of the Civil Resolution Tribunal’s inaugural 18 tribunal members. These appointments were made to ensure that a strong contingents of well-trained tribunal members are ready to adjudicate claims when the CRT opens at the end of this year. Board Report
The Governor’s met on March 27 in Vancouver. Some of the highlights of this meeting included the President’s Report, we can look forward to Jason Grant’s final message in INPUT magazine. He is also reviewing the structure of our chapters to see if the model we have been using for years should be changed or confirm that it should remain intact.
Business items discussed included a request for a leave of absence, terms of reference, some of our policies and standards. Every Governor meeting includes a review of a part of our bylaws, Part 5 & 6 were the topic of discussion during this meeting.
Doug Janzen, President of the AIC-BC was in attendance and gave our Board an update on some of the items they are working on including their National Conference to be held in Kelowna on June 3 to 6.
A reminder to everyone that the deadline for the Honorary Member and Award of Excellence is May 1, 2015. These are awards that recognize individuals in our industry for their contributions that we all benefit from, so I encourage you to submit your nominations.
