Metro Vancouver Industrial Lands Program – May 11, 2023

On May 11, 2023, Eric Aderneck, Senior Planner from Metro Vancouver Regional Government and Steve Forrest, Chief Operating Officer from PC Urban Properties, presented on the Metro Vancouver Industrial Lands Program. The webinar covered housing plans, solid waste services, including sewer and drainage, and regional water services by providing infrastructure and planning to protect the resources we have. This was underscored by the changing e-commerce impact on industrial usage with an increase in buying and selling of goods and services online in recent times due to the pandemic. As the increase in warehousing, fulfilment and distribution spaces are changing. The vision is to ensure sufficient industrial lands to meet the needs of a growing and evolving economy, as stated in the Metro 2050 Regional Growth Strategy plan.
