Real Estate 360 - Building the Future of BC Real Estate

Speaker Highlight: Trevor Koot - Chief Executive Officer, BC Real Estate Association (BCREA)

2026_Headshots/Trevor KootJoin Trevor Koot, CEO of the BC Real Estate Association, for “The Weight of Trust: How Real Estate is Affected by Reputation and Public Trust.”

In real estate, trust is more than a social value — it can have a direct impact on investment, property values, financing, approvals, leasing and market confidence. This timely plenary will explore how the reputation of municipalities, institutions, developers, lenders and regulators can influence economic outcomes across the real estate sector.

Drawing on perspectives from across development, finance, valuation, government and investment, the session will examine how trust is built, how it can be lost, and why restoring confidence can be so challenging.

Trevor is a recognized voice on housing policy, property rights and regulatory reform in Canada. With a background in real estate and governance, he regularly contributes thought leadership on the changing real estate landscape and system-level issues affecting housing.
