Member Spotlight - John Bridal, RI, AACI(Hon)

John has spent 30+ years working with the UBC Sauder School of Business’ Real Estate Division. Over this time, he has helped grow the Division to a leading national education provider and overseen the development of hundreds of courses. John says this job has been a perfect fit for someone who enjoys learning new things, as the course developer is also effectively a course’s first student. 

John has also been a member of BC’s Property Assessment Appeal Board since 2003. Mediating and adjudicating assessment disputes can be exceptionally challenging, but is also highly rewarding.  He credits his REIBC membership, since 1997, as a key to these successes, in both networking and in valuable continuing education opportunities.

John will be retiring from UBC later this year, to at last realize his longstanding dream of going “pro” as a surfer, windsurfer, and fisher. But in his spare time, he plans to keep busy with various “fun” consulting projects, assessment appeal work, as well as family time, volunteering, and lots more travel.
