Jada Basi

Jada Basi brings two decades of experience working across rural, regional, and resource-based communities. Her work focuses on infrastructure renewal, land use, and economic transitions, particularly in places shaped by forestry, mining, energy, and industrial development.
Raised in BC’s interior, Jada brings a grounded understanding of how resource economies intersect with labour, infrastructure, and community well-being. She has led multidisciplinary teams on complex consulting assignments involving Indigenous governments, local municipalities, and private industry, helping communities adapt to changing markets while strengthening their long-term resilience, livability and social fabric.
Jada holds a Master’s in Strategy, Management, and Leadership from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s in Northern and Rural Community Planning from UNBC. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of BC, a Certified Management Consultant, and a member of LAI. She previously chaired PIBC’s Communications Committee, served on the BC Business Council’s Next Leaders Steering Committee, and Co-Chair of the Canadian Institute of Planners National Policy Working Group on Economic Growth and Resiliency. Jada co-owns CitySpaces Consulting in Vancouver, BC.
