Land Project Manager
$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 annually

The Land Project Manager manages the BC Transportation Financing Authority non-highway land and improvements to preserve and enhance their value and to generate revenue for the government. That can include ensuring the property is protected from trespass or damage, leasing, or licensing property for use by others, ensuring appropriate operation and repair of improvements on the land and disposing of any surplus land through long-term lease or sale. This position also honours the province’s framework for reconciliation with First Nations and Indigenous Peoples. The Land Project Manager will develop, procure, and manage RFPs and contracts for property-related services, including land use planning, appraisals, First Nations consultation, environmental studies and remediation, minor or major works to preserve or enhance the value of land and improvements and property marketing and sales.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications for this role include:
• Degree in business, commerce, economics, planning, real estate, resource development or law with a minimum of five years of experience in a property management, property development, and/or real estate, property marketing, and/or sales position; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience in real estate, property assessment or appraisal, or project management may be considered.
• Accreditation with a nationally recognized appraisal institute or society such as the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation, or accreditation with the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia (REIBC). Applicants may also be accepted if they:
o (a) are candidate members in good standings with either the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) or the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia (REIBC);
o (b) currently possess an affiliate institute or society designation or qualification and meet the AIC or REIBC's qualifications for immediate acceptance; or
o (c) have completed all course work necessary to obtain the AACI or REIBC designation but have not applied.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and multi-faceted projects simultaneously and to close complex transactions under firm deadlines.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and to develop strategic partnerships with other government agencies, sophisticated private and public business and interest groups, elected local and regional representatives, and First Nations.
• Experience in the full cycle of procurement and contract management.
• Experience in developing and administering program and project budgets.
