$92,700.24 – $123,200.20 annually

Real Property Division (RPD) is a division within the Ministry of Citizens’ Services. RPD provides everything needed to design, set up and manage a government workplace. This includes management of the province’s real estate portfolio office space inventory, furniture procurement, project and construction management, and real estate services for special-purpose facilities (i.e., courthouses, laboratories, and correctional facilities).

Leasing Services is part of the Accommodation Management Branch and is responsible for all property leasing functions including negotiation, strategic lease consulting, documentation, and lease administration services for over 800 separate leases valued in excess of $170 million annually. It also oversees and manages all parking on behalf of the province.

The Director, Leasing Services is accountable for development and implementation of strategies and processes relating to the acquisition, disposition, marketing negotiation and contract management of lease premises on behalf of government and the broader public sector. The position provides leadership and direction for negotiating and documenting all new and renewal leases and administers the corporate lease portfolio. The Director manages RPD’s relationship with the outsourced provider of facilities management services as it relates to leased premises, and monitors performance to ensure maximum benefit of the contract.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Professional real estate designation (ALO, CCIM, CPM, RI (BC), FRI and/or a degree in business. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Extensive (at least 10 years) progressively responsible experience in commercial real estate.
• Considerable (at least 5 years) experience in a management role.
• Expert knowledge of real estate leasing and property management.
• Proven ability in lease negotiations.
• Experience developing/implementing policy and programs.
• Experience leading a team of accredited professionals.
• Experience managing budgets in a complex environment.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients in a customer service environment
