The City is seeking to fill the position of:

Property Agent
Competition # 12/071 

The City of Prince George manages a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, retail and residential real estate which requires a Property Agent with a wide range of expertise. We have an exciting career opportunity for you if you are an entrepreneurialprofessional with real estate, organizational and negotiation skills.

Reporting to the Director, Planning & Development, you will:

  • perform appraisals and negotiations for the acquisition, lease or sale of property
  • administer residential land sales, inventory, non-property leasing and rezoning/subdivision applications
  • research, analyze, and prepare a variety of legal documents; process and administer a variety of agreements
  • communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including various City divisions, outside agencies and the public.

You have:

  • completed the first year of the Urban Land Economics Diploma and you are actively enrolled as a current student in the program
  • candidacy for membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada is considered an asset
  • considerable related experience and knowledge with the development industry, property management and real estate
  • three to five years of progressive experience - municipal experience is an asset
  • a valid BC driver’s license

Your communication skills are superior as are your relationship-building, negotiation and research skills. You have an exceptional ability to self motivate and you are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You work well within a complex and rapidly changing political environment and you are comfortable engaging a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

The salary range for this unionized position is $33.44 - $34.30 per hour based on a 37.5 hour work week. The City of Prince George offers an excellent pension and benefit package, professional development, a respectful workplace environment, and an on-going commitment to work/life balance.
