Based in Vancouver, and reporting to the Vice President, Real Estate (West), the Senior Director, Real Estate will direct the real estate activity in British Columbia and is responsible for generating optimum financial and non-financial value from real property holdings in British Columbia The Senior Director, Real Estate develops properties to increase the financial returns to the Company while balancing the interests of stakeholders, including municipal governments and communities, and the policy objectives of the federal government. Engagement with First Nations is also an important aspect of CLC’s real estate development activities. The Senior Director, Real Estate will be responsible for all aspects of the real estate operations in British Columbia, including property acquisition, land development, design oversight, servicing, remediation, heritage considerations, construction, marketing, leasing and sales, and management of personnel.

The Senior Director, Real Estate will have wide exposure to real estate management practices and procedures including land use planning, community engagement, master planning and engineering design and approvals, site servicing, and sales, marketing, and leasing. The ideal candidate has a relevant network in Western Canada and a thorough understanding of municipal legislation and processes applicable to real estate projects. The successful individual brings substantial business acumen, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing real estate development projects with profit and loss (P&L) accountability and delivery of land development and sales targets. The role requires a big picture thinker with an understanding of matrix organization and an ability to balance local operational and corporate-strategic drivers with industry practices. In addition, the incumbent possesses a post-secondary degree or diploma in combination with other designation(s) in the area of business administration, real estate, engineering, urban planning, architecture, or a related field is required.
