Senior Property Acquisition Coordinator
$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 annually

The Senior Property Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing all property acquisition activities and delivery of property for complex land acquisition projects with multiple partners, including high value projects with significant public visibility. This position is responsible for resource budgeting, contract management, market valuations, procurement of legal land survey, appraisals and other consultant services, road closures, expropriation and related project management. The Senior Property Acquisition Coordinator works with considerable independence and demonstrates professional expertise, substantial initiative, wide discretionary judgement, and creativity in property acquisitions addressing a variety of issues, risks and contingencies, while engaging with tact and decorum. This position provides expert advice on land tenure issues in support of First Nations land transfer and exchanges, working closely with Indigenous Relations staff to provide advice on property issues that may impact sensitive negotiations. The Senior Property Acquisition Coordinator assumes a leadership role within Regional and Provincial properties groups and supervises the work of employees as well as industry consultants.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications for this role include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (ie. Business, commerce, public administration, geography, real estate, economics, planning, resource development or law) and a minimum of 5 years related experience OR
• Diploma in related discipline (ie. Business, commerce, public administration, geography, real estate, economics, planning, resource development or law) plus 7 years related experience. Note: Preference may be given to applicants who hold a Diploma in Urban Land Economics with Appraisal Option
• A minimum of five years experience in property acquisition.
• Experience with real estate related activities such as negotiations, land transfers, tenures, development approvals or other work related to property interests, preferably in the public sector.
• Experience managing complex projects involving private or public property interests.
• Experience in planning and developing contracts to obtain consulting services.
• Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution.
