Job Description / Duties
Our Real Estate Division is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Real Estate Operations division.
The Real Estate Operations department is accountable for real estate for TransLink’s core transportation mandate: acquisitions (by purchase, lease or expropriation), rights of way management, expropriation claims management, property and facilities management, property information, lease management and administrative services.
Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Operations, the Senior Manager is a key member of the leadership team. The successful incumbent will support in providing strategic direction and leading major transportation projects regarding property acquisition and management necessary for Operations and Capital Projects. The responsibilities include budget estimate, open houses, managing acquisition teams and developing property acquisition strategies, alternatives and options.
As a seasoned individual, you are skilled in negotiations and have participated in the development of strategies to provide management of TransLink’s Real Estate operations portfolio.
A strong team player, you possess excellent communication skills and have the skillful ability to liaise with people and cultivate strong relationships while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications / Required Skills
Education and Experience
The requirements for this position are typically acquired through a master’s degree in a related discipline (e.g. Business, Commerce, Economics, Resource development) plus 8 years’ experience in Real Estate development or equivalent combination of education & experience. A Real Estate designation such as RI(BC) with experience in real estate including rights of way and expropriation are preferred. Additionally, professional accreditation in a related field such as RPF, LLP, AACI or planning is an asset.
Other Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of the concepts, methods and best practices of real estate development, business development, and real estate transaction management
• Advanced knowledge of expropriation legislation and expropriation claims management along with strong knowledge of real estate, common & contract law
• Advanced business acumen with excellent negotiation and conflict management, resolution skills
• Good knowledge of transit or transportation industry or related major infrastructure delivery pertaining to real estate operations, maintenance & engineering issues.
