 ™.Â KWAST-en-ayu has served as his Nationâ€™s Chief Councillor and counc
 illor (4 terms). Maynardâ€™s extensive knowledge of his nationâ€™s cultu
 re and history, practical experience in economic/small business developm
 ent, intergovernmental relationship building / reconciliation, leadershi
 p/governance & decision-making, Aboriginal rights, and title come from a
  close working relationship with his nations traditional land and resour
 ce use experts and Elders.Â \n\nKWAST-enayuâ€™s presentation style is di
 rect, honest and comes from 27+ years of direct exposure to Canada's Ind
 ian Act, Indian Reserve System, Indian Residential School System. Maynar
 dâ€™s work in the area of reconciliation work has been recognized locall
 y/regionally by the City of Powell River (Freedom of the City, 2008) and
  nationally, by Canadaâ€™s Governor General David Johnson (Queenâ€™s Dia
 mond Jubilee Medal, 2013). Maynard is a Order of BC nominee (2023).\n\nM
