 amin Nation (TN), received his ancestral name from his Elders on May 10,
  2003 immediately prior to the signing of historic Sliammon First Natio
 n – City of Powell River 'Community Accord’. KWAST-en-ayu has se
 rved as his Nation’s Chief Councillor and councillor (4 terms). Maynar
 d’s extensive knowledge of his nation’s culture and history, practic
 al experience in economic/small business development, intergovernmental 
 relationship building / reconciliation, leadership/governance & decision
 -making, Aboriginal rights, and title come from a close working relation
 ship with his nations traditional land and resource use experts and Elde
 rs. \n\nKWAST-enayu’s presentation style is direct, honest and comes 
 from 27+ years of direct exposure to Canada's Indian Act, Indian Reserve
  System, Indian Residential School System. Maynard’s work in the area 
 of reconciliation work has been recognized locally/regionally by the Cit
 y of Powell River (Freedom of the City, 2008) and nationally, by Canadaâ
 €™s Governor General David Johnson (Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, 201
 3). Maynard is a Order of BC nominee (2023).\n\nMaynard is Founder, Indi
