DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what is happening with data in real es
 tate and where this is taking the industry? We are pleased to offer this
  webinar which will talk about how data is being used to automatically v
 alue properties, communicate hidden trends and insights, and make recomm
 endations to decision makers. We will then talk about how policy makers 
 are using data and where they go with policies depending on the data the
 y receive. Is that data all in one place and easy to get to?\n\nJoin us 
 to hear Nolan Derby, Data Scientist of BC Assessment and Keith Stewart, 
 Economist of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver discuss what is 
 happening with all this data.\n\n-- Keith Stewart --\n\nKeith Stewart is
  the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver's (REBGV) Economist. He rese
 arches and provides commentary on urban and housing economics. Prior to 
 joining REBGV, Keith held positions with the Canada Mortgage and Housing
  Corporation (CMHC), the BC Finance Ministry and the Bank of Canada. He 
 has a Masters in Economics and numerous designations related to financia
 l risk management, data analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling and m
 ore.\n\n \n\n-- Nolan Derby --\n\nNolan Derby is a Data Scientist at BC
  Assessment. In the past 5 years at BC Assessment, he has worked with da
 ta science teams to implement automated modelling solutions to help Appr
 aisers value over 1.1 million Single Family Residential properties and m
 ore than 500,000 Strata Residential properties across the province. He h
 as also worked with teammates at BC Assessment to help develop their dat
 a science skills, and incorporate their business knowledge and Appraisal
  expertise into data science models.\n\nNolan presented on successful da
 ta science applications at BC Assessment at the International Associatio
 n of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Annual Conference in 2019, and his data s
 cience work was presented at the Canadian Directors of Assessment Confer
