This month, the Institute would like to remind all of our members of our upcoming events: the REIBC AGM and Recognition Dinner; the 50th Year Grand Celebration, and The 17th Annual REIBC Golf Tournament. Also, our first ever Symposium has now been announced!!
THE 2010 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Date: Thursday, June 10th, 2010
Time: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Location: Terminal City Club, 837 West Hastings St. Vancouver, BC
The Annual General Meeting will be held before the Recognition Dinner. During the meeting REIBC members will be receiving and considering the Financial Statements of REIBC for year ending March 31st, 2010 and the auditors report, by-law amendments, and appointing auditors for the following year. This meeting will be chaired by President Peter Remillong, RI.

THE 2010 FALL SYMPOSIUM
On October 21st, 2010 REIBC will host an educational symposium with Keynote Speaker Mr. Larry Beasley who will speak to guests about all aspects of city design and urban planning. He is largely credited with the transformation of Vancouver's downtown core along with New Urbanism known as Vancouverism or "The Vancouver Model". Following there will be a series of forums on current real estate issues. More information will be revealed concerning this excellent educational symposium on the REIBC website in the very near future.

ELECTIONS
The 2010 Board of Governors has been elected. With the change in the Bylaws in 2008 Governors and Chapter Directors will be elected every year in rotation. In 2010 the Districts that required nominating and elections were: Vancouver District – 2 Governors, North Fraser District – 1 Governor, Fraser Valley District – 1 Governor and Vancouver Island District - 1 Governor.
Vancouver District: Daniel Stewart & Nathan Worbets
Fraser Valley District: Bonnie Knight
North Fraser District : Mandy Hansen
Vancouver Island District: Peter Bretherton
There is also 2 new additions to the Vancouver Chapter being Andrew Chan and Sara Girdler.
We thank everyone for letting their name stand and committing their time for 2 years to the Real Estate Institute of BC. The positions of President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer will be decided at the Board meeting on June 10, 2010 and announced at the Annual General Meeting beginning at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th of June at the Terminal City Club. Once again, thank you to all of those who participated in this year’s election.

17th Annual Golf Tournament
The REIBC Golf Committee is thrilled to announce that our 17th Annual Golf Tournament in support of Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC & Yukon is now sold out. Thank you to everyone for your generosity and support!
Our tournament (Texas Scramble) will be held at the Northview Golf & Country Club, Ridge Course, Surrey, B.C. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 with registration starting at 11:30 a.m. and a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start.
Although the golf tournament is sold out, please come join in the evening fun... cocktails & dinner, the live and silent auctions and prizes galore. Our evening auctions will once again be hosted by CTV News Sportscaster, Perry Solkowski who is known for his great story telling abilities.
