Board Report
Your Board of Governors met on September 26th, 2012, to review the Institute’s Strategic Plan and held a Board meeting the next day, the 27th. In order to keep our membership aware of the issues at hand, the following is a brief review of the meeting.
The Board confirmed our four strategic goals:
Our members remain satisfied that REIBC provides services that they value.
We are a financially sustainable organization
We are known and respected by our members, government, employers, other professional organizations and the public
We practice excellence in Board governance.
Within these goals we identified both the objectives and the performance indicators to measure our success. The updated Plan will be available shortly.
The Land Summit has now been incorporated and the senior staff from each partner organization is a Director of the Board. The Real Estate Institute of British Columbia is a member organization of the Land Summit Society and requires a voting representative. The Board approved the appointment of our Executive Officer, Brenda Southam, as the Authorized Representative of the Institute for the BC Land Summit Society.
As the provincial election is coming in May, the Board is moving forward with its government relations program.
Discussion was held regarding the student membership. All aspects of student membership, including fees and services, will be discussed at the December Board meeting. In the meantime information will be gathered as to student members in other organizations.
