Meet Shelby Harvey, RI – Quadreal
Shelby attended BCIT for Marketing Management – Professional Real Estate in 2014 – 2016. She began working in 2017 in a commercial property management firm as a Property Administrative Assistant and continued her career as a Property Administrator. She advanced her career to an Assistant Property Manager role before her current role which is a Property Manager for QuadReal Property Group’s downtown Vancouver office portfolio which is 650,000 sq.ft. Shelby loves the versatility of her career; no two days are identical, and often, she has to deviate from the days’ plan. Things rapidly change in her industry, and its essential to adapt.
She is thankful for the connections that she has built in the industry and she works with a fantastic team of colleagues and has excellent relationships with many of their tenants. She had the privilege to meet and learn from a lot of experienced contractors. Shelby continues to learn from an experienced group of people and she can honestly say that she learns something every day. Continuing to learn and grow is important to her and this career offers her that.
After Shelby completed her BCIT program she took a year off to travel and went to Europe alone for a month. It was tough to be in a place by herself, especially where she didn’t speak the languages. However, she is grateful that she took the time to enjoy it before jumping into a career. She continues to travel although she doesn’t feel as free as when she didn’t have a job and responsibilities back home. Shelby grew up horseback riding, and during COVID, she decided to start again. She never realized how much she missed it, and she’s glad she took the time to start again.
REIBC welcomes you Shelby.
REIBC would also like to introduce to you Dylan Wells.
Dylan works at BC assessment and started in 2012 an appraiser. He has worked with the Cost and ICI teams in the Prince George office and valued a variety of property types including commercial, industrial, multifamily, airports, purpose-built facilities such as sawmills and batch plants, marinas, water lots, auto dealerships, golf courses and others. A friend working for BCA encouraged Dylan to apply and he has been happy there as it is a good place to work with flexible schedules, great work-life balance, benefits, job security and fantastic co-workers. There is a variety of day-to-day work that keeps things fresh and interesting. BC Assessment paid for his diploma in Urban Land Economics and offers career advancement opportunities. Dylan grew up in Tuxford, Saskatchewan on a wheat farm before moving to BC. He has lived in Prince George since 2004. Dylan is married with three kids and enjoys playing hockey and he manages an adult recreational hockey team.
Welcome Dylan.
