Jesse Gregson, RI – Cadillac Fairview

Jesse Gregson

Jesse started his real estate career in commercial leasing as an intern with Colliers International Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. He represented a local landlord in marketing and leasing a new office building that was in the early stages of development at the time. He later took over as Property Manager for the same building and then moved into corporate facilities management with JLL on the Procter and Gamble account based out of Japan, where he spent the next 5 years. Most notably, Jesse assisted Procter & Gamble Japan with their site selection, acquisition, and disposition activities related to relocating their Japan headquarters.

When he returned to Canada in 2013 after several years abroad, he was fortunate to find an exciting position with one of Canada’s foremost commercial property owner/operators, Cadillac Fairview (CF). Jesse is currently the Senior Operations Manager for the CF Pacific Centre Complex in downtown Vancouver, which includes 8 office towers, a destination shopping centre, and a hotel. In his current role with CF he is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the complex and in addition he liaises with CF’s development and project management teams on significant projects. CF Pacific Centre is one of Cadillac Fairview’s most dynamic and complex properties and after almost 8 years he is still learning new things every day.

Jesse grew up in Lions Bay, BC. He is a big fan of the outdoors and enjoys various active pursuits with his wife and two children including mountain biking, trail running and snowboarding.

Welcome Jesse to REIBC.

Tamanna Hamid, RI

Tamanna Hamid

“I started my career in real estate with BC Assessment in 2015. I worked in a temporary role before becoming an Appraiser in early 2016 in Vancouver. I currently work as an Appraisal Analyst in Victoria to support appraisal staff in the organization with property valuation for various property types, best practices, procedures and policies. I often seek opportunities for process improvements and thrive in challenging environments. Prior to my role in real estate, I worked in leading a team of customer relations agents at Rogers Communications. My passion for real estate started during my undergrad in Classical Archaeology studying ancient Roman and Greek city planning and architecture. I love to travel and my last trip took me to what has now become my favourite country, Japan.”

Welcome Tamanna to REIBC.

Susan Antoniali

Our President, Susan Antoniali retired from the City of North Vancouver. Susan had built her career from real estate clerk for the negotiators (separating the MLS hot listing and putting them in mini binders) to manager of Business Operations and Property Management at the City of Vancouver. Susan was at the City of Vancouver for 38 years. She then took some time to provide service through Antoniali Property Services Consulting and then went back to the public service for a planned 10 weeks – which rolled into almost 6 years of great challenges and changes in Real Estate at the City of North Vancouver. She has hung up the keys and there are no long rainy-day commutes. She looks forward to her next project. We wish you all the best Susan.

The month of November saw two great events. The first was our first networking meeting and was entitled “Where are we now: IC&I Market update from 3 Brokers and an Assessor” – It was a follow up to the event that was held in November 2019. The REIBC welcomed three industry brokers who provided a snapshot as to where the retail leasing, office and industrial markets were and what to expect moving forward. In addition to the broker input, BC Assessment also provided an overview of the impacts on assessed values for the 2020 Assessment Year while outlining key sales activity in the retail, office, industrial and multi-family markets. We then had our first networking session and all seemed to go well.

Thank you to President Susan Antoniali who was our emcee and kept us on track and thank you to the four terrific speakers – Retail Specialist – Raman Bayanzadeh; Office Specialist – Perry Gorgounis; Industrial Specialist – Eugen Klein, RI; Assessor, Keith MacLean-Talbot, RI

BC Assessment

Our second event was Ask A Planner.

Lindsay Chase

Lindsay Chase, MCP, MCIP, RPP gave an all-encompassing presentation and then answered all of the burning questions about what a Planner does. Where do they get involved, what is their authority and what input do they have into the processes? It was a great session and we had a great Q&A period! Thanks everyone for your participation in this great webinar.

A donation to the CIP Planning Student Trust Fund was made by REIBC on behalf of Lindsay.

We also thank the Real Estate Foundation for their support of this event.
