2022 Presidents’ Luncheon

On December 8, 2022 Chief Louie was our keynote speaker. He talked to us about a number of stories from the “Rez” and how to build business. He is a firm believer of reading and “borrows” books from friends libraries that he wants to add to his collection. He shared a number of quotes with us and one of the ones that really stuck with me was “if you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” It was a very interesting talk and Chief Louie was pleased to join us.

2022 Presidents’ Luncheon Door Prize Winners

On Thursday, December 8th, REIBC held the 2022 Presidents Luncheon with keynote speaker, Chief Clarence Louie.  After a great presentation with a number of quotes and stories to learn from, three door prizes were given away.  All received baskets of Lindt chocolate with 2 signed books from Chief Louie, called Rez Rules.  A great read if you haven’t read it yet. Congratulations to the door prize recipients Kevin Arndt, Damien Stathonikos and Diana Dickey.

Opinion Piece by John D’Eathe, RI (Retired)

Retired REIBC member John D’Eathe has written an opinion piece on money laundering, a subject of fascination and the topic of his novel “Laundering the Dragon”. In his opinion piece, John muses on his experience working abroad, past encounters with corruption, the BC Cullen Inquiry and the current state of money laundering in this country. Though reflective only of the author’s opinion and not the Institute’s, it’s an interesting read.
