Kenny Leung, RI
Kenny graduated from the UBC Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor of commerce degree in Real Estate and Operations Logistics. After graduating from UBC, he started his real estate career within the property assessment field. He currently works at BC Assessment as an Appraiser specializing in the valuation of strata residential properties within the Lower Mainland. Throughout his career at BC Assessment, he had experience working with the properties across many different neighborhoods including rural areas out on the Sunshine coast. He finds the most exciting part of his work is being out on the field and inspecting new construction that eventually becomes a part of the city’s skyline. The real estate industry is constantly evolving, and working within the valuation field provides him with several opportunities for learning and growth. He has always had an interest in studying the development of real estate markets and working as an appraiser naturally allows him to stay on top of the latest events that are happening within the industry. Kenny completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation (PGCV) in 2020 and looks forward to connecting with other RIs within the Institute. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and travelling. His last vacation was a trip to Japan and it was a great experience and he hopes to visit again in the future!
Aleksey Nekhoroshev, Nominee Member
After his 2006 graduation from the Moscow State Industrial University, Aleksey started his career as a commercial real estate broker at a local agency in Moscow. His last project was tender for the redesign of the office premises in the head office for Vi Holding, a Moscow-based international investment and development company. You can learn about Vi Holding here. Currently, most of his time is taken up by his studies at the BCIT Professional Real Estate program. Aleksey is taking the courses at BCIT because he is passionate about development and is glad to see that greenfield is becoming a valuable asset. As Aleksey continues his studies at BCIT, he is learning and getting a thorough understanding of the local real estate environment. He will graduate in December 2021 from the BCIT program, and hopes to find the best ways to apply his experience, skills and competences achieved in the Russian market in British Columbia. Aleksey believes that the RI will provide him with great opportunities to exercise his greatest values in life – to learn, get new skills and competencies, and share his own experiences with others. As Aleksey continues his schooling, his goals include part time work in order to practice his professional skills, and to graduate and establish new contacts with fellow market professionals.
Aleksey is a motorsport fan and is involved in motorsports cars development for rally teams in Russia. One of his customers was the FIA Cross Country 2014 & 2020 Champion. When asked if there was anything else he would like to share, Aleksey responded by quoting Mark Twain: “Buy land, they’re not making it anymore.”
Welcome Aleksey.

REIBC AGM
On June 10, 2021 REIBC held it’s AGM virtually for the second time in its history. There was a quorum present and the business of the Institute was carried out. We thank all of you for participating and look forward to seeing you in person (hopefully) next year! You can see the Annual Report here.
REIBC Recognition
Each year REIBC recognizes members that have been with the Institute for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and, yes, even 55 years. The last couple of years we have been unable to hold our luncheons with members although we are still recognizing them by sending them their certificates. We will invite you next year to the luncheon so we will have larger groups in 2022 (of course, if we can). Here are the members we recognize in 2021 for their membership in the Institute. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you soon!
