This position is located in Victoria, however, other locations may be considered based on operational availability.
There is currently one, one-year temporary opportunity available.
This temporary appointment may result in a permanent appointment.
Land Project Manager
$72,724.97 - $83,014.85 annually
The Major Projects, Infrastructure and Properties Department is responsible for facilitating the installation of transportation infrastructure throughout British Columbia. The Properties and Land Management Branch is responsible for over 5,000 land and water parcels held by the BC Transportation Financing Authority (BCTFA), which is a Provincial Crown corporation. The Properties and Land Management Branch holds and manages lands acquired primarily for transportation purposes.
The Land Project Manager is responsible for managing projects related to BCTFA’s asset inventory such as, asset planning and capital rehabilitation and/or replacement strategies, leading projects related to land development, and establishing multi-partner land based strategies that achieve Branch and Provincial objectives. This position is also responsible for leading activities related to project development, including and oversight of consulting resources established through contracts for services, such as appraisers, land use planners, civil/structural engineers, and environmental scientists. The role is also responsible for minor and major works tenders for construction/rehabilitation purposes, and development of project documents consistent with industry-wide project management standards.
Qualifications for this role include:
• Degree in a related discipline (i.e., business, commerce, economics, planning, real estate, resource development or law) and a minimum of 5 years related experience*; OR.
• A Diploma in a related discipline (i.e., business, commerce, economics, planning, real estate, resource development or law) plus 7 years of related experience*; OR
• A certificate in a related discipline (i.e., business, commerce, economics, planning, real estate, resource development or law) plus 8 years related experience*.
*Related experience must cumulatively include all of the following:
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience, in the public or private sector, dealing with real estate or property management issues.
• Experience developing strategic partnerships and working directly with a range of partners (local government, First Nations, private sector).
• Experience managing a diversity of complex, multi-faceted projects simultaneously.
Accreditation with a nationally recognized appraisal, real estate, or project management institute or society such as the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation, Project Management Association of Canada, or accreditation with the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia (RIBC) is a requirement for this position.
