The REIBC is visiting Courtenay, B.C. on Tuesday September 30th, 2014! We will be at the Westerly Hotel & Convention Centre at 1590 Cliffe Ave, and we would like you to join us!
This will be an excellent opportunity to gain insight on growth, economy, and development in Courtenay, Comox and the surrounding areas while mingling with your peers. Breakfast and lunch will be included.

City of Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula:
Having been elected in 2011, Mayor Larry Jangula is just completing his first term as the Mayor of the City of Courtenay. Prior to that, he served as a Courtenay Councillor for nine years. Mayor Jangula had a 27-year career with the R.C.M.P. serving in North Vancouver, Trail, Dawson Creek, retiring in Courtenay. He has been a private business owner, operating a private investigation firm and presently has a classic car parts/consultation business. Larry has always been active in the various communities in which he has lived. During his time in the Comox Valley, he served on boards for Family Services, Habitat for Humanity and L’Arche Comox Valley.
Peter Crawford - Director of Development , City of Courtenay
Peter received his BES in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo in 1975. His career has included stops in rural Ontario, Ottawa, Red Deer, and the Comox Valley. Arriving in the Comox Valley in 1980, he served as the Director of Planning for the CVRD for more than 10 years and has been with the City for 20 years and now is in the position of Director of Development Services. He has a keen interest in continuing to push for improved urban design and expanding the City’s Greenway and cycling systems.
