The Federal government has been consistently and methodically implementing more restrictive lending policies since the global economic meltdown of 2008. The new rule changes of January 2018 are the last installment in a series of the changes implemented over the past 9 years. A summary of residential mortgage lending trends in Canada and how it effects today's home buyers and homeowners.

Brad Currie, RI, began his career in 1983 as a Realtor and Branch Manager with Royal LePage and moved to Brokersmart Real Estate Services as Managing Broker. From 1993-2001 Brad was the Mortgage Specialist with TD Canada Trust and London Life Mortgage and in 2001 became an independent Mortgage Broker/Owner. With thirty-four years experience in the residential mortgage and real estate industry Brad has watched the real estate industry change through the years and looks forward to sharing his expertise.  Brad has also been a director of Accepted Financial, a Mortgage Investment Corporation. Brad spent a number of years as a REIBC Chapter Director and spent some time on the Board.
