The Nanaimo Chapters of the REIBC & AIC-BC are hosting a joint pub-night & discussion on current & forecasted trends and new developments in Nanaimo.  Our speakers are Mr. John Cooper, BBA, PREC, Realtor with Re/Max of Nanaimo Downtown and Bill Corsan,RI, MCIP, RPP, Deputy Director of Community Development, City of Nanaimo.

John Cooper, BBA, PREC, is a Realtor with Re/Max of Nanaimo Downtown and is the Team Leader of the John Cooper Group in Nanaimo. John has entrepreneurship in his blood and has always had an aptitude for business. A natural leader, John leveraged his Honours BBA in marketing to work in the field of international marketing and branding, as well as running his own business. In 2008, just prior to one of the worst real estate markets in recent history, John launched his real estate sales and marketing business and quickly defied the odds, establishing himself as the #1 top producing agent within 24 months.

John will be discussing the residential sales trends in the last 90 days, recent project sales success, upcoming projects, current challenges in the market place- mortgage, new agency rules and how many purchases you see from foreign investment. Are they driving the real estate market or what is?

Bill Corsan, RI, MCIP, RPP is the Deputy Director of Community Development for the City of Nanaimo and is responsible for the City's Real Estate, Economic Development and Business Licencing Departments. Bill has been fortunate to have worked on many interesting projects over the last 8 years including the acquisition of the Linley Valley Park, the Conference Centre Hotel Project, the acquisition and redevelopment of 1 Port Drive and the Waterfront Walkway project.

Bill will be providing an overview of the current and upcoming development projects within Nanaimo.
