What better way to learn about land use planning and development then through a guided boat cruise? Our guest speaker for the evening is Mr. Gary Penway. Gary will share his thoughts on housing affordability, the development approval process in BC and the role of Realtors.

Boarding will begin at 5:30 pm, with departure at 6 p.m. returning to dock at 9p.m. The Yacht is moored on the dock next to "Bridges Restaurant " on Granville Island.  Appetizers will be served and a full stocked cash bar will be on board.

The Cruise will go out into English Bay toward Point Atkinson (Lighthouse Park) and then into Howe Sound. (Based on appropriate weather/water conditions).

Gary Penway has over 30 years experience in municipal planning and development approvals. This includes extensive work with members of the real estate profession. 

While with the City of North Vancouver,  Gary was involved in the creation of three Official Community Plans,  pre-Zoning the Moodyville neighbourhood, creation of the Pier (Shipyards) Development, innovative housing solutions, introduction of a Heritage Program, and much more. 

Gary is a Registered Professional Planner and member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. He was a Development Planner, City Planner and Director of Community Development during his 31 year career with the City of North Vancouver. He is currently the sole proprietor of Gary Penway Consulting.
