Jim Anderson has been the Executive Director of Venture Kamloops, the economic development agency for the City of Kamloops, since 2013. As Executive Director, Jim is responsible for developing, fostering and maintaining excellent working relationships with all levels of government, community and business groups. He maintains a strategic involvement with senior staff of key Venture Kamloops partners to drive economic development in Kamloops. Jim is also responsible for the financial and administrative service delivery of the organization and provides support to the Venture Kamloops staff in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Venture Kamloops programs have been recognized provincially and nationally for their innovative approach to local economic development.

Kamloops weathered the turbulent months of 2020 and is poised to present opportunity on many fronts. A resilient employment base and thriving real estate market make the future bright. Jim will discuss the approach they’ve taken to developing the economy and give an overview of what they feel are the most interesting opportunities for 2021 and beyond.
