Announcing a Major New Study--“Space for Community” Understanding Social Purpose Real Estate

October 28, 2021, 12:00 AM - 1:00 PM

A project of REIBC and the Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative, Space for Community (S4C) was launched this past spring—the most comprehensive study of its kind. Including deep dive research, surveys, focus groups and best practice scans, S4C lays out the issues and the opportunities with findings and recommendations directed at four sectors: social purpose, funders & investors, government and real estate! Join Jacquie Gijssen and Jennifer Johnstone as they share some of those findings and highlight the possibilities going forward. The social purpose sector (not-for-profits, social enterprises, artists) is one of BC’s most important for community growth and resiliency not to mention economic capacity and contributions to GDP, however, is often overlooked when it comes to affordable, suitable, secure real estate.
