Strata Depreciation Reports:  Prudent Financial Planning OR Unintended Consequences

Join us on October 14, 2021 as depreciation reports, CRF’s and special levies are discussed from a practical prudent financial perspective, and what the potential unintended consequences could be if one is not prudent when dealing with strata finances.  Our expert speakers will dive into this topic (sometimes controversial) and explain the reasons why.

Michael’s experience in the field of Real Estate Consulting since 1989 includes residential strata development, construction, and strata renovation in BC, preparation of reserve fund studies and depreciation reports throughout BC, construction costing and valuation specific to strata developments in BC, as well as experience at the Board level on strata budgeting on various strata councils. Michael completes and reviews Depreciation Reports and Reserve Fund Studies throughout BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Additionally, Michael is the co-instructor and co-author for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) Realtor accredited course “Understanding Strata Depreciation Reports for Realtors®”.

Oscar is a lawyer advising strata owners, strata councils, home owners, landlords, and tenants with respect to their housing or property-related disputes and concerns. He was called to the bar in Quebec in 2013 and in British Columbia the following year. After several years at a North Vancouver law firm focusing on housing law, Oscar founded  Refresh Law in 2020. He is also the founder and editor of HousingGuide.ca, a free online reference for home owners, strata councils, landlords, and property managers in BC.
