Webinar - Making Sense of BC’s New “Housing Supply” Legislation

March 20, 2024, 12:00 - 1:00 PM

WEBINAR

In the fall of 2023 the province introduced laws designed to loosen local governments’ grip on residential development potential and allow significant new housing supply all across the province, especially near public transit. The province has also shifted away from requiring public hearings for many bylaw changes, in some cases even prohibiting what has become a much-maligned form of citizen engagement in the development process. This session will provide a broad overview and try to also unravel some of the intricacies of a new legal landscape.
