We are pleased to announce Township of Langley Mayor Jack Froese and City of Langley Mayor Ted Schaffer as our keynote speakers. Along with both Mayors we have the General Manager of Engineering & Community Development – Township of Langley, Ramin Seifi and Director of Development Services and Economic Development – City of Langley, Gerald Minchuk.
This is a 1/2 day event and we will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. followed by the speakers at 9:00 a.m., lunch will be served at noon and you will get an REIBC update during lunch.
Langley City Mayor Ted Schaffer
First elected to Langley City Council in November 1990, City of Langley Mayor Ted Schaffer has dedicated nearly two decades to helping build a vibrant, healthy and safe community that meets the current and future needs of residents, business owners and visitors to the City of Langley. Township of Langley Mayor Jack Froese
Elected to office in 2011, Mayor Jack Froese is currently serving his first term as Township of Langley Mayor. For 34 years, Mayor Jack Froese has lived, worked and raised a family in Langley. He is the successful owner of a family run business. Through responsible, accountable leadership, Mayor Froese works in cooperation with Council, the other elected officials, and members of the community to ensure the Township of Langley remains a thriving residential and business destination. Langley City Director of Development Services & Economic Development Gerald Minchuk
Gerald Minchuk has been the City of Langley's Directory of Development Services and Economic Development since 1994. He is responsible for managing and directing Building Inspection & Permitting, Business Licensing, Economic Development and Land Use Planning for the City of Langley. Most recently, Gerald was responsible for the City's award-winning Downtown Master Plan and Brownfield Redevelopment Strategy.
Township of Langley General Manager of Engineering and Community Development Ramin Seifi
Ramin has been with the Township for the past fourteen years. He completed his education in the U.K. with a degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career in Canada in 1990 working with McElhanney Consulting in their Prince George and Surrey offices. He has over 25 years of experience in community development, planning and engineering in both the public and private sectors. Ramin will provide an overview of the Township’s unique history and future potential, with insights into long range plans intended to develop complete, sustainable communities that balance residential growth with employment and recreational opportunities, supported by efficient and cost-effective infrastructure.
