The award recognizes REIBC members who demonstrate excellence in their contributions to REIBC, the profession, and the community. Mr. Ullrich was nominated for the award by his peers and received the award at REIBC’s Recognition Dinner in June 2016, where REIBC honoured its members for their service.

Scott Ullrich has provided excellence in service and contribution as Past President of Real Estate Institute of British Columbia. Scott joined the real estate industry as a Chartered Accountant specializing in auditing, taxation and consulting for variety of real estate management and development companies. A graduate of Simon Fraser University with a Major in Business Administration, Scott pursued Urban Land Economics from University of British Columbia then received his RI in REIBC and FRI in REIC. Scott is continually serving and supporting his volunteer hours to the real estate education and professional development for the betterment of the industry as a whole.

Scott strategically supports the Real Estate Industry through 16 organizations.

His commitment to excellence is above reproach.

Along with Scott’s contribution to our institute he has given his time to serve on several boards which include:

  • President of BC Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management IREM
  • President of the BC Apartment Owners and Managers Association BCAOMA
  • Director of the Real Estate Institute of Canada REIC
  • Director of the Commercial Division and held Chair of the Property Managers Advisory Committee for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver REBGV
  • Treasurer for the Strata Property Agents of BC SPABC
  • Instructor at the University of British Columbia, Urban Land Economics

Scott and his company play a leading role towards improving the industry through education, being the catalysts for positive legislative change and promoting ethical business practises.

Scott served as Chair of the Real Estate Foundation to provide his time to lead their mission “to transform land use attitudes and practises through innovation, stewardship and learning. The foundation has approved over $74 million in grants to date.

Scott supports Habitat for Humanity across the Nation by allowing and engaging his staff to work on projects as part of company caring giving. The 40th and 50th anniversaries of Gateway Property Management proudly supported funds raised for Habitat for Humanity.

Scott has served for several years as a Treasurer and a National Director for Trout Unlimited Canada. A volunteer organization to conserve, protect and restore Canada’s freshwater ecosystems and their cold water resources for current and future generations.

It is difficult to put these accomplishments together and regret that there must be some critical information missing as Scott is not one to talk about himself. Scott loves spending time with his wife Sheryl and three daughters and when he has a chance to ride off on his motorcycle.

Scott’s approach of providing his time to the betterment of real estate industry and socially responsible organizations through quality, integrity, leadership and innovation is a true a gift he has given us and we are truly grateful that he shares it with us along with his great smile!
