Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Development Services & Asset Strategies is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development and delivery of the provincially-subsidized social housing supply program, and in the re-development, improvement and sustainability of housing properties owned by the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation (PRHC) including developments directly managed by BC Housing. The Vice President works closely with other levels of government and the private sector to generate innovative and creative solutions to enhancing the non-market housing supply in the province. You will lead the assessment of properties and the planning and management of multi-year projects re-development of properties (encompassing negotiations with architects, engineers and developers, etc.) and the leasing of land and building space. As a key member of the executive team and representative of the organization, you will partner with the not-for-profit housing sector and local governments and agencies across the province to ensure needs are met and opportunities are realized in the most efficient and effective way possible. The Vice President serves as a key member of the Executive team and as a Director for the PRHC.
Qualifications / Required Skills
As the ideal candidate, you will have extensive experience in planning and managing the development, construction, repair and re-development of multi-unit residential construction projects, involving multiple partners and government jurisdictions. You have a strong track record of success in an organization with a service-driven culture and have demonstrated an ability to look for new and innovative ways to tackle complex problems amongst multiple partners. You are adept at fostering positive working relationships with the construction industry, governments and community agencies, and you bring an entrepreneurial approach to the table. An understanding of sustainable development as well as a background in project management in a team environment is critical. Your ability to establish and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture will be crucial to your success.
