Job Description / Duties

Main Purpose & Function
The Supervisor, Property Negotiations is responsible for managing a team of professional real estate specialists,
overseeing the sales, acquisitions and leasing of City-owned land and buildings.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The role requires an in-depth knowledge of property valuation, current realty values, market trends, major civic and
private development projects, mortgages and leases, and demonstrated experience in negotiation.

Further, the applicant requires the ability to prepare detailed technical reports; good problem solving and analytical skills; excellent communication skills to deal tactfully with property owners, tenants, realtors, civic staff, committees and the business community. Must be able to exercise sound independent judgment and handle a complex workload with changing priorities. Considerable experience in performing and evaluating appraisals, and considerable experience in a comprehensive real estate operation in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Either a Bachelor of Commerce, Urban Land Economics or an accredited designation in Property Appraisal. Also
required is a valid BC Driver’s License.
Applicants must have strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex information in both written and verbal form; possessing a strong familiarity with current business software (VanMap, Microsoft Office, Real Net, BC On-line, SAP) and knowledge of City procedures and policies are an asset.
