Salary $61,358.64 - $70,016.90 annually

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans transportation networks, provides transportation services, develops and implements transportation policies, and administers many transportation-related acts and regulations. Highway Operations is the Ministry’s front line.

The Planning and Partnerships program operates within each Region, providing as part of its mandate, a variety of real estate acquisition, management, and disposal functions as well as project management and litigation support.

The Property Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing delivery of property for specific projects. This role also encompasses supervising the provision of property appraisals for highway right of way and acquisition projects by contracted services; directing and developing contract agents to negotiate equitable property acquisition settlements with property owners or their representatives; managing and evaluating the work of independent consultants engaged to assist in determining compensation payable for acquisition of properties.

Additional Information

Qualifications for this role include:
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in business management/commerce/urban land economics/natural resources or equivalent.
• Accreditation with Appraisal Institute of Canada (A.A.C.I. or CRA) or RI (BC) Appraisal Option diploma by UBC or International Right of Way Association SR/WA designation in Appraisal.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project or program management, property acquisition, survey or negotiation, preferably in the public sector environment.
• Experience is required in planning, coordinating, and managing a specific function.
• Experience in meeting, working with, and negotiating with stakeholders.
