Job Description / Duties

This position is a key role for the Assessment Team at Esri Canada and will act as the linkage on Assessment and Mass Appraisal content expertise between the Business Development, Professional Services and Product Development teams within the Assessment vertical at Esri Canada. The position reports directly to the Director of Assessment.

Responsibilities include:
• Proactively work to create new business opportunities by working with and supporting account teams; selling solutions into existing and prospective customers in the Assessment Industry.
• Support and collaborate with the Assessment Team in addition to Esri Canada Regional Directors, Account Managers, Industry Managers, Business Partners, Marketing, Professional Services and Technical Support across Canada on Assessment strategies, account planning, presentations and demonstrations.
• Assist to develop, communicate and maintain Esri Canada’s Assessment business plan.
• Assist Esri Canada’s Assessment - Business Development Team and be an active participant in regular virtual team meetings.
• Work in close consultation with Esri Canada’s Director of Assessment, Other Directors as required, Account Managers, and associated Business Partners with regards to specific customer opportunities, requirements and activities.
• Continually acquire and maintain a solid understanding of the evolving requirements of Esri Canada’s customer base, products, services and emerging trends in the Assessment Industry. including identifying new opportunities and/or applications for Esri Canada’s Assessment applications & partner technologies
• Liaise with Esri Inc. and other Esri Distributors’ Industry Management staff on Assessment &/or Real Property issues and opportunities.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory requirements, technology, strategies and sales of Esri products and services, business partner offerings and competitor information worldwide.
• Provide a high degree of consultation with the Director of Assessment and the Assessment Business Team to develop and implement industry-specific sales plans and strategies to ensure annual budget objectives are met.
• Establish and develop solid working relationships with senior executives within the industry.
• Work with customers in a consultative manner to evaluate and document their existing business environments as well as assessing, developing and documenting future solution requirements.
• Play a key and effective role in the planning, coordination and preparation of proposals (e.g. RFPs, RFIs and RFQs), presentations, bench marks, customer information inquiries with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
• Lead in the planning and development, documentation and communication of GIS-based Best Practices for Property Assessment organizations, Case Studies, Stories, References, White Papers, Solution Description/Prompters and other industry communication tools.
• Make recommendations with respect to marketing activities, trade shows, user groups, etc. to best showcase Esri Canada’s Assessment solutions.
• Work collaboratively with Marketing and Technical Support colleagues in preparation for trade shows, user conferences, presentations, demonstrations, etc.
• Be engaged with applicable Industry Associations and Working Groups and key Industry Events.
• Collaborate with Professional Services leadership to develop industry-relevant reusable professional services solutions and methods (i.e. industry-focused packaged services)
• Working with Account Managers recommend solutions specific to customer needs & help guide customer needs analysis towards Esri Canada’s Assessment products and services.
• Provide a high degree of consultation with the Director of Assessment and Assessment Business Development team develop industry-specific sales plans and strategies for the Business Unit.


General Responsibilities:
• To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company Performance Appraisal Process and Merit Rating System.
• To communicate effectively with internal and external personnel at all levels representing the company in a professional manner at all times.
• To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meeting on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the company as well as other departments across the company.
• To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
• To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Director of Assessment in a timely and professional manner.
• Act as a key Subject Matter Expert in Real Property Assessment.
• Work effectively with the Assessment Business Development, Professional Service and Development teams to ensure all teams have the required support in Assessment Subject Matter.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of their time.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Specific skill requirements:
• University degree in Real Estate, GIS and/or Computer Science or Engineering is recommended. A specialization in or Graduate Degree/Diploma in Real Estate would be an asset.
• Equivalent educational experience will be considered.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years proven experience working with an Assessment Jurisdiction in a Senior role.
• Knowledge of Mass Appraisal Valuation Approaches.
• Proven understanding on how to sell solutions into the Real Property Assessment & Real Estate markets.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively at Executive Levels.

• Complete knowledge of Mass Appraisal Valuation techniques and procedures.
