Salary $63,200.00 - $87,600.00 annually
The Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate (OSRE) sets conduct standards for the real estate services industry, oversees the Real Estate Council’s delivery of Council’s consumer protection mandate, and leads the ongoing reform of real estate industry regulation in British Columbia.
The Analyst, Consumer Disclosure and Approvals (CDA) protects the public and enhances industry integrity. The Analyst ensures, under delegated authority, that developers: provide full information and deposit protection to consumers when marketing residential developments under REDMA; collect and report to the Property Transfer Tax Act administrator all required information on strata assignments by purchasers from developers under REDMA; entrench rental rights for residential strata lots that are developed as rental property under the SPA; and fairly allocate strata fees and voting rights for strata lot owners.
The Analyst ensures that policies, procedures, and systems are in place to efficiently and effectively process filings and approvals, and ensures the reporting of strata assignments, in accordance with established performance standards. With over 1,200 annual real estate development filings in B.C., the Analyst manages a considerable volume of work within demanding timeframes to ensure developers are compliant with regulatory requirements. This position maintains key relations within the BC government, federal and provincial government officials and external agencies.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications for this role include:
• Post-secondary degree in law, business administration, public administration or a related field. Preference may be given to applicants with post-graduate education in a related field.
• Combination of three years’ experience in a senior technical role that includes all of the following experience:
o Reviewing complex business proposals, files and consumer disclosure documentation;
o Applying legislation and policy to a wide variety of factual scenarios;
o Communicating decisions both written and verbal to others;
o Performing file management or related file review and administrative functions;
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
