EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, REAL ESTATE & PORTFOLIO RENEWAL
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice-President of Development & Asset Strategies, the Executive Director, Real Estate and Portfolio Renewal is responsible for providing leadership in capital planning, real estate services, renewal of the Riverview Lands and working with the Provincial Director of Redevelopment on directly managed properties owned by BC Housing and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation (PRHC), and for the Branch’s planning and administration functions.
Qualifications / Required Skills
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•University degree in a relevant field such as land use planning or real estate development, financing or equivalent
•Certification in Project Management preferred.
•Extensive experience in leading major, multi-use renewal and re-development projects. Extensive experience in stakeholder consultation, economic and sustainable development, heritage conservation, and First Nation agreements. Project development/management experience in the public sector preferred. Experience in developing economic opportunities including filming preferred.
•Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of the planning, design, renewal, re-development and construction of multi-use properties.
•Extensive knowledge of the philosophies, practices, models and frameworks associated with project management.
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of BC Housing’s mandate, programs and policies in delivering social housing programs throughout the province.
•Ability to lead the planning, design and delivery of significantly complex and multi-dimensional renewal and re-development projects, involving multiple partners and stakeholders.
•Ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior management, Executive, governments, social housing partners and other relevant stakeholders.
•Ability to utilize judgment in presenting issues, and provide leadership, direction and influence in facilitating appropriate courses of action.
•Ability to lead, coach and motivate staff in a team environment.
•Effective consultative, facilitation, consensus building, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
•Strategic and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•Effective leadership, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
