Job Description / Duties
Provide project management and real estate services to a dynamic provincial government agency
Burnaby, BC
You will work in the Development and Asset Strategies Branch, which is responsible for facilitating an increased supply of community-based affordable housing and for managing the real estate assets of BC Housing. The Branch also oversees the development of public-private partnership affordable housing and manages various commercial and development properties.
You will assist in the delivery of new affordable housing and managing BC Housing assets by applying your project management and real estate skills. You will serve both internal and external clients by understanding their goals and objectives and providing the project management and real estate services needed to achieve those goals and objectives.
You will provide services, in a team environment and within a project management framework, which will include:
The acquisition of real estate (client needs assessment, site selection, negotiations, due diligence, etc.)
The disposition of real estate (value enhancements, marketing, negotiations, etc.),
property management (negotiating leases, licenses, SRWs and encroachments, value enhancements, dispute resolution, etc.)
Providing strategic real estate advice (research, feasibility and risk analysis, financial analysis, land use planning, approvals, due diligence, etc.)
You will manage the work scope, schedule and budget. You will ensure that there is a proper flow of information to and from clients, team members, senior management and other stakeholders. You will retain and direct external consultants and service providers to work with you.
To be considered for this role you would have ideally had 6 years experience relating to real estate development and/or management, coupled with a university degree in business administration, project management, land use planning, real estate development and financing or a related field. Equipped with superior analytical, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills, you have a proven ability to manage a multiple of complex projects and had experience with negotiating and brokering an array of agendas. A good knowledge of real estate development is expected, as is computer competency.
