Job Description / Duties

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Exec Dir, Real Estate & Leasing, the Supervisor, Real Estate Portfolio Administration is responsible for overseeing the administrative and facilitation aspects of a wide range of real estate services relating to the acquisition, development, leasing, management, and disposal of land for BC Housing and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation. He/she/they performs due diligence, oversees, and conducts research regarding potential property opportunities and responsible for reviewing and distributing available opportunities to Real Estate Services (RES) and Development & Asset Strategies (DAS) staff. The position assists the department by completing the purchase and disposition of group home properties and other acquisitions and dispositions as needed and coordinates Crown Grant applications, Indigenous Consultation / Notification processes and conducts redevelopment reviews for properties being reviewed for capital upgrades.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Considerable knowledge and comprehension of the concepts, practices and techniques associated with real estate administration.
Considerable knowledge and grasp of real estate contract law, legal agreements, legal instruments, and registration processes.
Considerable research, analytical, problem-solving, conceptual thinking, planning and organizational skills.
Sound knowledge of real estate evaluation, feasibility, and best-use analysis.
Sound mathematical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
Some knowledge and grasp of project management philosophies, theories, and concepts.
Excellent communication and peoples’ skills.
Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement when dealing with a broad range of audiences.
Ability to establish business requirements to ensure the effective administration of real estate functions and oversee their implementation.
Ability to learn BC Housing’s programs, development, financial and lending policies, relating to the development and administration of real estate.
Ability to supervise staff and provide leadership in accomplishing goals.
Ability to function efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consultants, developers, agencies, public sector organizations, housing providers and other stakeholders to accomplish goals.
Ability to manage multiple issues and projects, coordinate work with others, and adjust to changing priorities. Proficient in the use of enterprise applications such as JDE, Oracle, and productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, MS Word, and MS Project.
Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications / Required Skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in real estate management, business administration, land use planning or other, relevant field.
Completion of courses related to diploma in Urban Land Economics or equivalent.
Considerable experience in senior level administrative positions in commercial real estate/property management office involved in property acquisition, disposal, and leasing.
Some experience in land use and feasibility analysis.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer.

Salary: ($63,393.31 - $73,118.09 Annually)
