We are seeking an individual for the position of Senior Valuation Consultant in our VALUATION Group in Richmond, British Columbia and/or the Greater Vancouver Area..
Campbell & Pound Commercial Ltd. – ICI appraisal Service is one of the larger real estate appraisal/advisory and property tax consulting firms south of Vancouver, having been established more than 74 years ago. Our scope of work encompasses all types of commercial real estate and multi-family projects throughout the City and Province. Clients include Private, Financial , Expropriation, developers, institutional investors, lawyers, government agencies, private equity, etc.
The successful applicant is a motivated self-starter that is also able to work efficiently in a team setting. You possess strong analytical skills, excellent writing, and are deadline-oriented. You enjoy a dynamic industry and being challenged. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential, and a background in AIC courses and valuation-related programs such as Argus are a bonus.

Campbell & Pound Commercial Ltd.. is an established real estate appraisal firm located in Richmond, British Columbia. Our team of accredited real estate appraisers has extensive experience in all types of property valuation, point in time appraisal service, new project analysis, Property Tax and Assessment Consulting Services, consulting and Depreciation Report consulting Services.
The company has been located in the Lower Mainland and branded as real estate consultants appraisal, valuation and consulting since 1939.
Assignments have included every class of real property found in the metropolitan Vancouver area.
Preferred Applicants will have
- A high degree of judgment, strong analytical and problem solving skills are required to meet the diverse real estate needs and expectations of our clients.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain professional working relationships with high level contacts and the general public.
- Extensive knowledge of property values, real estate market conditions and trends, valuation methodology, investment analysis is required.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly the use of spreadsheet software with the ability to prepare and co-ordinate detailed and complex reports on property and development matters.
- Knowledge of the Development Permit and Rezoning processes, City By-laws, expropriation, Community Charter, Local Government Act and related legislation.
Role of an Appraiser:
- Inspect, measure and determine the values of assigned property types
- Ability to read , understand blueprints, construction plans and ability to do take offs from such plans.
- Check alterations, renovations and other construction, Knowledge of Unit Costing and Construction
- Maintain records, drawings and data used for Valuation, consulting or reserve Fund Consulting purposes
- Utilize state of the art technology, including satellite imaging and digital mapping software
ALSO Expected is:
- Valid BC Drivers license and transportation with your own vehicle.
- Strong planning, organizational, and scheduling skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks.
- Ability to deal with people effectively at all levels.
- Advanced computer software skills, particularly working with complex spreadsheets.
- Self motivation.
- Ability to work both within a team and independently.
- Proven leadership ability.
The successful individual must possess:
- AACI designation with three to five years of post-designation progressive experience.
- Experience in commercial appraisal engagements.
- Willingness to travel.
- Good understanding of appraisal costing (Marshall & Swift or RS MEANS).
Education and Experience Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree preferably in Commerce or Business Administration. Other undergraduate degrees may also be considered with a preference for Economics, Urban Geography, Urban Planning, or Engineering.
