CEO's trip north

 Earlier this month Jack Wong traveled north to participate in the University of Northern BC's Community Development Institute spring speaker series. Jack also spoke with elected officials, First Nations people, and other residents about their specific concerns and the need for decision-making that serves our children, our grandchildren, and our great-grandchildren.

New faces at the Foundation

At the end of March our Board of Governors elected a new chair and vice-chair, and on April 1st Scott Ulrich joined the board as the new Real Estate Institute of BC appointee.

The months of April and May also saw additions to the staff. Nick Davies was hired as Grants Administrator, and students Sam Brown and Megumi Sato joined our team for the spring and summer months. [Read the blog post]
 

Land Awards & Gala

Nominations for this year's Land Awards are now open. The Foundation will present awards in four categories: non-profit, private, and public sector, as well as the individual Land Champion. Nomination deadline: Friday, September 7th

Join us in congratulating the finalists on Friday, October 26th at Vancouver's Four Seasons Hotel.

Apply for the water grant

 The application deadline for the 2012 BC Water Sustainability Endowment Fund Grant is June 29th. We will award a $3,000 grant for a project or program that focuses on water sustainability from a watershed perspective. The 2012 grantee will also receive a video of their project, which will be profiled at the Land Awards Gala on October 26th.

The Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia was created in 1985 through the initiative of the BC real estate industry. By law, the Foundation receives interest income from deposits made by real estate buyers into brokerage trust accounts and uses the proceeds to support real estate related research, education, law reform, and other projects intended for the public and professional good. It has approved over $60 million in grants for non-profit projects throughout British Columbia.
