Cultural Values and the Contemporary Urban Landscape

Speaker Julian Smith (President, ICOMOS Canada) will share current international thinking on cultural landscape theory and practice.

It is a relatively new planning concept, emerging at the intersection of nature and culture, continuity and diversity, the old and the new. It is a response to changing attitudes in both the conservation field and the design and development fields.
