With British Columbia's labour force expected to grow more slowly in the coming years than it has in the past, the provincial economy will be increasingly dependent on productivity gains and exports to achieve levels of GDP growth needed to support BC's changing population in the future.
With this in mind, Urban Futures' latest report takes a look at BC’s international goods exports, addressing the questions of how much, what, and to which countries British Columbia exports its products. Some additional thoughts are also presented on BC’s ability to grow and diversify its export base, and on its competitive advantages.
