Mukhtar has 30 years of international affordable housing and development experience within public, non-profit and private sectors. He excels in building partnerships with government agencies, funders, non-profits and private sector to deliver affordable and diverse housing options across the housing income continuum.

Mukhtar was the Chief Housing Officer for the City of Vancouver in Canada setting up the Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency to build 2,500 affordable homes on city and partner owned land. He was also responsible for understanding supply and demand across the housing market and developing new strategies to implement in order to meet growing housing need. Mukhtar has particular expertise in identifying and negotiating land acquisitions, leading planning processes, securing funding and overseeing construction and operations management having developed over 5,000 affordable homes in the UK.

Having set up Pomegranate Housing Consultancy, Mukhtar combines both strategic vision and practical policy implementation in developing affordable housing policies, products and programs including modular housing, resettlement projects and community plans for federal, provincial and municipal governments, non-profits and the private sector.

If REIBC is advised of a cancellation a minimum of 72 hours prior to the event, you will receive a FULL refund.  Any cancellation within 72 hours of the event will NOT be refunded.
