Bio/Background

Mahsoo currently serves as the Director of Facilities Services at BCIT, where she leads the management, operations, and maintenance across all five BCIT campuses. This encompasses 55 buildings, spanning over 22.45 hectares, with a total interior space of 2,417,378 square feet and 62.23 hectares (153.8 acres) of exterior grounds. In her role, she oversees six departments, and a team of 75 staff members.

Previously, Mahsoo held the position of Director of Engineering Capital Projects at the City of Burnaby. There, she managed the Capital Project Delivery for Infrastructure Projects' Portfolio and oversaw the Survey Department's operations as well. With over 20 years of experience in Properties & Lands, Governance, and Major Infrastructure and Operations, Mahsoo is recognized as a dynamic and seasoned strategic leader. She specializes in acquisitions, land development, assemblies, rezoning, and municipal bylaws.

Mahsoo holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, as well as a Masters of Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Alberta. Notably, she has been an Elected Board member for EGBC since 2022 and previously served as an Elected Councillor for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) from 2014 to 2017.
