Job Description / Duties
We are seeking a Property Tax Assessor to be part of the team responsible for the inspection and valuation of all types of property including residential and non-residential within the city of Medicine Hat. You possess knowledge of assessment principles, current mass appraisal techniques and statistical analysis. The ability to use independent judgment to assess value and interact daily with the public and property owners is fundamental.
As the successful candidate you have the ability to work both in the field and in an office environment to collect, correlate and evaluate detailed data. When working with the public and internal staff, your effective interpersonal and communication skills enable you to establish effective working relationships
Qualifications / Required Skills
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma in property assessment or related field.
Four years previous assessment experience preferred.
Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta or Accredited Appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada or working on attaining such.
