Job Description / Duties
Position Summary
The Social Sustainability Coordinator will develop formal and informal processes; systems; structures; and relationships that actively support the capacity of current and future generations to create healthy and livable communities. This role reports to the SVP, Property Management and provides program leadership to Property Management located across BC and Ontario. Socially sustainable communities are equitable, diverse, connected and democratic and provide a good quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and, in some cases, deliver programming that will improve the lives of the employees and residents in Concert buildings. This programming will include activities structured around health and wellness, provide opportunities to build social capital (i.e. the number and depth of connections with fellow residents and coworkers.) and most importantly fun and interesting activities that may make people happier and improve their opinion of Concert as a land lord/employer.
- Recruiting and developing a network of resident ambassadors and staff leaders that will develop, and in some cases deliver this programing.
- The Coordinator will work to support staff and ambassadors in delivering programming. They will organize regular meetings and check-ins with these groups as well as property managers, property assistants and building managers.
- Support the VP, Sustainability to advance initiatives from the Concert Social Sustainability Framework.
This is a general description of the tasks and skills required. Additional responsibilities and duties may be required to successfully perform this position.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of the following: human rights, wellness, diversity, equity, work-life balance, community engagement, philanthropy, and volunteerism. They will also be organized, motivated and will have some experience delivering programs or coordinating events. All of this relies on the candidate having excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
